September 02 Lesson of David's Triumph victory over that Goliath GiantLesson of David's Triumph victory over that Goliath Giant
Dear friends, for those who know me, it was a time of rest, reflection and refreshing during the course of 10 day MC after i incurred a minor fracture injury on my left toe foot (of course spraining my leg before that). I spent my time thinking, reflecting, sleeping, repenting as well...it was a time of recharge for mind, body and soul. i have previously been reading the book Transformation by Ed Silvoso, a specially annointed business transformation pastor and retreived some revelation and deepened knowledge on how I view the world. For those who dearly know me, I am the kind of person who pursues knowledge hungrily, of course in those areas of interest and areas where I practically require that knowledge or skill to so call survive. That partly explains why I kept reading and i can't survive a day without the internet because it is my ready source of information anytime I need it.
Hmm....two parts struck me most when I read about the book. And my interpretation might be inaccurate and the discussion below could sound a little religious but again I shall disclaim, no part of it represents the opinion or posiiton of any organization i am associated with but purely a matter of person opinion that arises from individual understanding and interpretation. (1) The Sin of Commerce Ed Silvoso's suggestion (as he openly admitted in his book as a BOLD Suggestion) is that trade existed as early as the days of the creation of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, and during that period of time angels were already existing. Some angels are righteous, some are corrupted and before the crafty Serpent (Devil, Satan) misled the gullible Eve and then therefore Adam, some of them colluted with Satan and became fallen angels. For more details, please read his book to understand further. Angels (i assumed to be sinful and imperfect as well) started trading among themselves starting the curse of trade which trapped every single human being in the state we are in now. The problem of distribution, not the lack of resources in the entire Earth has resulted in the severe poverty we see everywhere now. As early in the days of Adam and Eve, a few rivers were already flowing through the Garden of Eden, which carries various precious metals such as onyx etc. such metals and abundance of resources are made available to Adam back then, who was the only sole human creature even present at that point in time. There is no lack of resources and no competitors. Adam can have everything and anything he wants, yet he still listened to Eve and ate from the Tree of Knowledge and Life. Anyway... that sort of explains why trade happened back then. If everything was created by God and provided for for us, it is by Grace he created for us to enjoy. yet unequal distribution which was motivated by selfish ambitions and pursuits, limited most of the resources to be in the hand of a few and not sufficiency for all. These set me thinking. He sort of suggest that the Hosts of the sky (stars, moon) are dominated by Angels and after creation of Earth, God has already created angels to rule over certain areas of the Earth. So whatever forces it was, it quite makes sense when we were taught in bible classes that satan's forces are in the heavenlies! To undo it , Silvoso suggests that ppl need to return to the days of Jesus times, when the Apostles were leading and many faithful followers sell everything and break bread from door to door and that people carried with them such a strong spirit of giving that they do not mind sharing everything they have, in order to break the circle of abject poverty. When that happened, true transformation has indeed arrived in that city! would we have sufficient to enjoy for ourselves? Absolutely, Our God is a God of creation and since we are made in the image of God, we too inherited that power of creation. if we are able to create, would Scarcity ever be a problem?? Does scarcity as an economic problem ring a bell in what we have learnt in Basic EconomicS?? ! If learning well the concept of scarcity and competition makes you a good businessman, knowing how absurd the concept of scarcity (which is totally anathema to our God, who is a creator), in my opinion, makes you an even better businessman ! Because you have dominion over others!! you create Blue oceans (for business students who have read blue ocean strategy , you would understand what I mean!) not kill yourself in the red oceans.....You become a Trendsetter......You LEAD... isn't it better ? because now you set the market rules, you transformed a market which is a price competitive in nature to one that is oligopolistic or monopolistic in nature. Of course, God's blessings showered on certain people stands for a good purpose, that is to serve his kingdom. He endows us with gifts by grace and he expects us to gracefully channel those blessings on others as well. He does not will those who know him to be selfish in character but to be graceful and giving like him. For in spirit and character we all ought to show to the World the little Christ in us. Thus it takes effort and most of all fear and love of God to attain that. We are blessed so that we can overcome the world and prove Satan wrong. We received wealth so that we can participate in the redistribution effort and undo the cycle of poverty. Where love abounds, hearts would be changed and Hope endures. To cut the preachy words short, I believe strongly as Christians, we must keep hope and love abundantly strong and real in the lives of people on Earth. It will make our lives as earthly beings peaceful and orderly, it will also bring joy to others. We all need hope in various parts of our lives.
(2) Hope and the pursue of Dreams Dreams to some, are desires we have at different phases of our lives. for the young, their desires may be acing that examination or winning that compeition or getting the attention of their classmates in school. As we grow older, our perspective of the world is shaped by our friends, environment and what we read. Experiences also mould us, and we matured as a result, spiritually, mentally and physically. so needs change and needs are desires. Dreams may also mean prophetic revelations. visions we see in our sleep, visions that seem to signal us something yet we cannot find any meaning or connection at first glance when we first experienced that dream. The "Dreams" I saw in the book Transformation refer to the first definition. My revelation on this is pinned up in my bedroom:€ My vision is not determined by what I have now BUT by what GOD will make available as I PURSUE it into the FUTURE!! After I have known Christ, I have grown a lot in the last 2 years and I am looking forward to more growth and change in the future in Christ! Absolutely, a life without dreams and a vision of the future is dead flat and monotomous! This is really a very encouraging Word because every line and word in it is truth! Generically and secularly it is also true... Let's put it this way (quoting one of my CG member's beloved msot used lingo....hhaha), any opportunity that comes forward is for those who are prepared to take it up.! So any vision must be made in action in preparation (which includes prayers and disciplines of being a Christian)for its fruition! Friends, don't give up your dreams, pursue it into the future , coz our God the Creator will provide !
